Baggs - Dixon Wyoming Tourism

Baggs - Dixon Wyoming pdf download

These towns are not only awash in photogenic countryside, but also western folklore. Situated near the southern boundary of Wyoming, Baggs, and Dixon are nestled in the Little Snake River Valley.

These towns have a colorful history thanks to their remote location. Butch Cassidy and his Wild Bunch frequented these outlaw rendezvous to celebrate successful holdups in nearby counties and states.

In Baggs, the Mathews House, now renamed the Baggs Outlaw Stop, was built with the help of Butch Cassidy. This is the cabin Cassidy and his buddies are said to have used as a hideout, and where Cassidy stayed after his reported death in South America.

Twenty-four miles north of town is the old stage stop once called Dad, Wyoming. Although the area traveled is remote, it is anything but desolate. Take a break and leave the traffic and hassles of everyday city life behind. Stop in the quaint towns of Baggs and Dixon and revel in the tranquility of nature untouched.
