We are the way the West was. We’re Meeteetse, the best kept secret in Wyoming. We are surrounded by working cattle ranches, national forests and wilderness areas with some of the best hiking, camping, fishing, hunting, cross-country skiing, and wildlife viewing around.

We’re guaranteed NOT to be “new” or “improved”. This is where Butch Cassidy liked to hang out and things have not changed much. Wooden boardwalks, hitching rails and turn of the century buildings characterize our downtown. Our restaurants feature good home cooking with real western beef. Our motels guarantee clean rooms and a peaceful night’s rest.

If you decide to stop in Meeteetse, don’t expect to buy a lot of souvenirs made in China. Do expect to rub elbows with genuine cowboys and wranglers. Do expect to be dazzled by our spectactular scenery and endless meadows full of wildlife. Do expect to find a vacation spot you will want to return to again and again.
